Meet Daniel & The Team

D

aniel Ruth is part of a three generation lineage of  hospital and health services CXOs, thought leaders, advocates, and self-described “servants” to the older adult community. Daniel has been on the frontlines advocating for the health and wellbeing of senior adults for close to 40 years in Canada and the United States, with his work having been instrumental in setting a new standard for home and community based services, as well as a continuum of facilities for residential, skilled nursing care, as well as hospital-based behavioral/mental health care.

Daniel’s roots in leadership and commitment to senior care and services is in his “DNA.” His father Sam Ruth was CEO of Baycrest Center for Geriatric Care and is widely considered an icon in the field. Today, his son Kyle continues the family tradition and is currently serving as the COO at the Redwoods facility in Marin County.

“I remember at a young age that my father would talk to and work with all levels of staff just like he would his board members.”

As a lifelong learner, Daniel possesses a passion for program planning and design. His work has been instrumental in setting the standard for programs and facilities across North America including Dynacare,  Beacon Hill Lodges, Village Shalom, the Moldaw Residences and the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living.

Daniel’s personal mission is to enrich the lives of older adults through addressing their physical, social, psychosocial, and behavioral needs.Daniel currently resides in San Rafael with his wife Fern and beloved english bulldogs, Frankie and Bogie.

People have asked Daniel why he has been doing this for the past ~40 years. The simple answer is that he genuinely cares for and derives joy in assisting older adults and their families … as he lives by the Jewish value of Tikun Olam which means ‘to repair and improve the world’.

Let’s talk about it.
